It is the newest project from Jason Kim, who also owns the successful Jason's Toridasu in Ardmore. You can find @Ramen in what was formerly known as Gigi's Italian Bistro in Manayunk. We attended their soft opening this weekend and tried their amazing Chashu Ramen (pictured below). This was my first time tasting creamy broth based ramen and it did not disappoint. They offered us different toppings to customize the spicy factor for the mild broth. My favorite was the seasoned chives which packed a spicy vinegar flavor. The protein was chashu, or braised pork belly.
They ran out of egg noodles by the time we joined the party, so Jason let us know that ours featured kale noodles (yum!). Overall, the flavors were rich and the vibes were welcoming. We will be returning!
Not only did they serve delicious and hearty ramen, but their decor was totally unique! As soon as you walk in you see a Japanese manga covered wall to the right and shelves showcasing anime VHS tapes on the left.
If you want to have a taste before their official opening on August 16th then don't forget to stop by Aug. 11-12 from 5-8 PM for a second round of their soft opening. Believe me, you don't want to miss it!
