Pull up a chair and enjoy the captivating moments that make up the lives of Louise and her mother Ann. 12 Chairs by John O'Hara shines a light on mother and daughter relationships-- the funny as well as the tumultous episodes that can never be forgotten.
Amanda Schoonover and Marcia Ferguson play the titular mother-daughter duo as well as 10 other characters throughout the 90 minute show. Their talent shines through with each new character and minimal change of wardrobe. The performance space was perfect for these complex themes since it offered such an intimate and stripped down setting.
One of the aspects I enjoyed the most about the play was how it portrayed seemingly ordinary people and memories from their lives, but was able to highlight how poignant those moments are in the grand scheme of things. Without giving away any spoilers, I can say that 12 Chairs shows you the importance of being present in our lives so that we don't miss those invaluable moments before they pass us by.
12 Chairs runs until May 12 and they have early bird tickets that include happy hour deals at Love City Brewing next door so make sure to purchase your tickets today. With Mother's Day approaching (May 12), this performance makes a great gift *hint hint*.
Thank you Juniper Productions for the invitation. It was a wonderful performance and so much fun to get to meet the cast and producer afterwards at Love City Brewing.
Now if you don't mind...I'm going to give my mom a call.
